Fourth Edition of the Case Study Series at Vedica Scholars Programme for Women

30th July 2026

Building Business Acumen Through Frameworks, Cases, and Real-World Decision-Making

The CareerTrek Company continues its long-standing association with the Vedica Scholars Programme for Women with the fourth edition of the Case Study Series, being delivered for the Class of 2026.

At the heart of the series is a simple principle: knowing a management framework is useful, but understanding when and how to apply it to a business problem is what makes that knowledge valuable.

Across the series, scholars explore essential frameworks and analytical tools spanning Finance, Marketing, Human Resources, and Strategy, applying them to practical cases and business situations that mirror the decisions managers encounter in the workplace.

Building Career Skills Beyond the Classroom

Building a Practical Business Toolkit

This year, scholars are working with a diverse set of frameworks designed to strengthen their understanding of different business functions.

The Balanced Scorecard and 9 Box Grid introduce approaches to performance and people decisions, while Break-Even and Time-Adjusted Break-Even Analysis, DCF, NPV, and IRR strengthen financial evaluation and investment thinking.

Customer Lifetime Value brings a customer economics perspective, while Porter’s Five Forces, Ansoff Matrix, BCG Matrix, and McKinsey 7S Framework help scholars examine competition, growth, portfolios, and organisational alignment. The AIDA Model further introduces a structured way of understanding customer attention and marketing communication.

Together, these frameworks give scholars a versatile toolkit for examining business challenges from multiple perspectives.

Where Frameworks Meet Real Business Problems

The distinctive part of the Case Study Series is what happens after a framework is introduced.

Scholars are presented with practical cases that require them to identify the problem, determine which framework is most relevant, interpret the available information, and arrive at a reasoned recommendation.

The conversation therefore moves beyond “What does this framework mean?” to “What does it tell us about this situation, and what should we do next?”

This case-led approach encourages scholars to work through ambiguity, challenge assumptions, connect information across functions, and defend their recommendations with logic and data.

Preparing for Decisions Beyond the Classroom

These capabilities have direct relevance to the professional situations scholars will encounter ahead. Whether it is a case-based interview, consulting problem, management discussion, strategic presentation, or an everyday business decision, the ability to break down an unfamiliar problem and communicate a structured point of view is an important professional advantage.

The series therefore prepares scholars not simply to remember business concepts, but to develop the confidence and judgment to use them when the situation demands.

Four Editions of Turning Learning into Application

Now in its fourth edition, the Case Study Series reflects the continuity of The CareerTrek Company’s academic partnership with the Vedica Scholars Programme for Women and a shared commitment to keeping management learning closely connected to the realities of business.

For the Class of 2026, every case becomes an opportunity to look at a problem differently, test a framework against reality, and turn analysis into a decision.

At The CareerTrek Company, that is where the real value of management education lies: not simply knowing the frameworks, but knowing what to do with them when a real business problem is on the table.
